Last Thursday, I had the opportunity to take in the Ideal Fashion Show 2014, a charitable fashion event put on by Ruth Rumack, Julia Thompson & their amazing committee of students from the Bishop Strachan School. Featuring the work of Canadian designers Arthur Mendonca, Malorie Urbanovitch & NARCES, the runway show was the highlight of the night & signified the energy of great people coming together for a great cause inside the beautiful Casa Loma.
Having wanted to do more work alongside charities for a while now, I had been looking forward to shooting this fashion show for over a month since first being approached about being their primary photographer. However, what should’ve been a exciting week turned into a brutal couple of days for me after I was hit with a brutal stomach virus on Wednesday, the night before the fashion show. On the day of the show I loaded up on painkillers & Gatorade with few ill effects, but the few days that followed haven’t been quite as kind. As such, I apologize that the runway portion of this gallery is being posted a few days late.
In closing, I’d like to congratulate all of the girls for their amazing work putting the show together & raising over $130,000 for the SickKids Foundation. Special thanks to Julia for reaching out to me in the first place & having me photograph a wonderful event!
